Privacy notice
This is my personal portfolio. I want to know which of my work people find interesting so I can follow up on opportunities. I also want to respect your privacy. There are no ads, no third-party trackers, no session recordings, and I never sell or share data.
1. Always on: anonymous statistics
Every page view is counted without cookies or any storage in your browser. I record the page, the website that linked to it (domain only), your country and region (state or province), and whether you're on a phone, tablet or desktop. To count unique visitors per day, your IP address and browser type are combined with a random value that's deleted every day. The result can't be linked to you, and your IP address is never stored.
2. Only if you click "Allow": your visit
- A random visitor ID in your browser's local storage, which links your visits together.
- Your approximate location (city/region level) from your IP address.
- The name of the network or company you browse from, looked up from your IP address via ipinfo.io. The IP address itself is not stored.
- Pages viewed, projects clicked, terminal commands typed, time spent, and résumé downloads.
I use this to see which work resonates and to recognise returning visitors and companies, so I can reach out about relevant opportunities. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); Nepal Individual Privacy Act 2075). You can withdraw it any time with the button above. Withdrawing deletes this detailed data straight away.
3. Personal links
If I sent you a link made just for you, opening it records the time and your country so I know it was opened. Nothing more is recorded unless you click "Allow".
4. The contact form
If you send a message, I store your name, email, company (optional) and message, only so I can reply. If you allowed tracking, the message is linked to your visit history. Legal basis: your consent, given with the checkbox on the form.
5. Who processes the data

These providers may process data outside your country, under their own safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses).
6. How long it's kept
- Anonymous statistics: 13 months.
- Detailed visit data: 12 months after your last visit, or until you withdraw consent.
- Contact messages: until the conversation is over, or at most 24 months. You can ask me to delete them sooner.
7. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion. You can also object or complain to your data protection authority. Email me at manil.maharjan07@gmail.com. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, I treat it as "Decline" automatically. For US residents: I do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
